Liverpool were prepared to fork out €100 million transfer fee to sign the Uruguay international Federico Valverde from the La Liga giants Real Madrid this summer’s transfer market but were told a deal wouldn’t be happening by the midfielder.

That is according to a report from a Spanish media outlet Bernabeu Digital, who cover the Anfield side apparent interest in the ace in an exclusive.

He recently renewed with Los Blancos until June 2027, having wanted to extend his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu outfit for another two years to protect his long-term future there.

According to the aforementioned source’s information, the Premier League giants considered a €100 million offer to sign Federico this summer.

No such proposal ever arrived at the club as the player’s agent made it clear that his client’s intention was to renew with the Galacticos and continue his rise at the club. That dented any chance of a move from Jurgen Klopp’s side. Liverpool thought about paying€100m for South American ace
